It's Friday November 1st about 5. 1/2 months since I logged into what I hoped would be a journey into writing to declutter my thoughts and therefore my actions. Not. Happening.  So, let me begin again.

In two hours I have to be at work.  As I sip my coffee and type I'm thinking of what I'd like to accomplish today.  At work, I'd like to complete and send a discretionary order of titles I have amassed, I'd like to create a new book display with the NYT book review, and create a flyer with adult based short tech presentations such as how to create an email account, Differences between e readers and tablets, and parts of a computer.  Easy basic stuff.  If I can get this done AND start my monthly report that would make me so happy.

At home, on my lunch hour I may have to take a trip to the vet and take our severely constipated longhair Puffball in for an enema.  Again.  Not going into detail but we've been down this road with anothe one of our cats, Winston.  Oi.  Well onto more pleasant thoughts, looking forward to the weekend, hoping to get some sewing done.  Hoping.

It's Friday May 17th and the work day is almost over.  I can't wait to get home and change into comfy clothes and begin working on my muslin of Connie Crawford's pants pattern I've had for over a year.

This time I'm determined to blog regularly to see if it helps me clear my mind.  I'm cluttered.  Most of the time I'm behind in everything and never on top of things you know?  I hope to change that with writing.  I mean blogging.

I called it Juanita's Web because many years ago I was given a copy of a web on a piece of paper and as part of an exercise I had to write down all the things that interested me.  I want to apply that to this blog and write about all thins I enjoy or want to know more about and share with whoever would like to know.  They say a blog should have a focal point. Well, it ain't happening for me.  My focus is all over the place!  Sewing, crocheting, reading, eating, colors, fabric, politics.  The list goes on and on.

The Best is yet to come!

I'm baaaaaaack!

Wow, the last entry was from last summer July of 09! whew! Well, here I am a year later, roller coaster ride survivor at work in the public library system of Philly, Pa.
I'm twenty days away from a 10 year anniversary at work. Hmmm. What do I have to show for it?
Grey hairs (lots of them!)
Pension
457 plan
Two Roth IRAs

Now what?

I've gotta harness the time!

Over a weeks' worth of entries have passed me by. That's how my life is feeling like it's just whizzing by and I have no control over how my day goes. We are at over 300 folders for Summer Reading at the Library and it's the fourth week. If we get 100 this week we will have surpassed last summer's 378 mark. For the administration it's about numbers and that's all.
We are at 75 with the Teen folders so I'm very happy about that.
Trying to make lemonade with lemons: that is what work at the FLP is for me right now. How do I make the best of a situation that I am given: having a work force made up of some who just look at this as a job and not much more, handling the Philadelphia public, and an inner sense of not being able to manage all that is expected of a branch manager at FLP. Managing a staff, a building, a collection, the public, a friends group, outreach, programming; how does it all get done with good solid results?
With another librarian in the building and a semi full front desk staff, I hope to better manage my time on the above mentioned areas so that I can start seeing positive results.
Still working on that second sock, still haven't finished the merlot crocheted sweater I started in June and my office/craft room is STILL a mess! I found a very cool site of beautiful rag dolls and very pretty flower pens and old fashioned magnets. Inspiring and I so wish I could have a day of crafting all to myself. Not having children one would think I have the time. But as I aptly named this entry; if only I could harness the time! I came home last night at 840pm (stayed late to enter statistics) . I called up a colleague of mine who is three times as busy as I am at the branch for support, which she gave. Hung up with her after I finished my ice cream (dinner) and I needed a hug but my hubby is not the huggy kind so I satisfied myself with the big pillow and just fell asleep on the couch! By 9:30 pm I am dead to the world. I don't even dream any more.
I need oatmeal to fortify me for the morning!

Sunday Ocean City here we come!

We have to finish the paint job in the master bedroom. Little by little it's looking like a desirable house.
Now about that second sock, I'm stuck! I'll try back later. I'm reading my Avon Representatives Times insert. I really need to see what I need to do to stay focused on what I want my Avon business to do for me. I have not been working on it at all.
